I reward groups that are on task, ready to listen, etc., with a a poker chip during the day. On Thursdays, each grup counts their chips. The groups or groups having the most earns a Friday Beverage Pass which entitles these students to bring a beverage from home to enjoy on Friday afternoons during our silent reading time. Children love it and the reward costs the teacher nothing! We empty the receptacles and start again the next week!"
